HILLARY MISHCON
About Me
Growing up, I made frequent trips to mid-coast Maine with my family. The landscape, artists/artworks I have come to know there continue to be one of the most prominent influences on my work. I received my BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2009 with a concentration in painting. I spent years working at Mass MoCA out in western Massachusetts. I spent a few years living out in Oregon and exploring the US before eventually moving to Maine and starting a new career as a pharmacist. I love my work in the healthcare field but painting remains an important part of my life.
It has always been a way for me to escape into my own world and explore my experiences. I enjoy exploring different styles but often find that paintings have their own way of dictating how they turn out. Sometimes it's just a way for me to spend time in places or with subjects I enjoy.
